Monarchs Close Season in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C.  The Monarchs 2019-20 season came to a close against Saturday afternoon against Meredith College as Methodist was defeated 89-38 in USA South Athletic Conference women's basketball action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Emily Ricks led the Monarchs with a team-high eight points, six rebounds, and three assists.
  • Kate Perko and Kimberly Schuh put the Avenging Angels on their shoulders in this game. The pair combined for 54 points on 24-of-36 shooting.
  • Meredith closed out the first quarter on a 8-0 run and continued that into the second period, scoring the first 12 points of the second frame to take a commanding 38-11 lead.
  • The Monarchs' best shooting performance came in the first quarter. Methodist shot 5-of-13 (38.5 percent) for 11 points in the stanza.
