JUST THE FACTS
Final score: Huntingdon def. Methodist, 48-21
Records: Methodist 2-2 (2-1 USA South), Huntingdon 2-2 (2-0)
Location: Samford Stadium; Montgomery, Alabama

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Majority of the first quarter saw the team's offensives stalling out because of penalties and incomplete passes. The Hawks would strike for the first points of the game. A 29-yard touchdown pass gave Huntingdon a 7-0 advantage.
  • The Monarchs responded back on their ensuing drive. A combination of Brandon Bullins passes and run help bring Methodist down the field, with 7-yard touchdown pass to Praylow to cap off the drive. The point after touchdown was blocked by the Hawks to keep a 7-6 lead.
  • Huntingdon doubled the score 14-6, off an 80-yard catch and run touchdown, with 11:21 left in the second quarter.
  • It did not take long for Methodist to answer back, as a two minute and 10 second march brought them back within one. After a good return to the Monarchs 45-yard line, Bullins passes of 30 and 13, by Praylow and Xzavier McNeil respectively, got Methodist into the Hawks territory. Eventually Praylow connected with Bullins again for an eight-yard grab to make it 14-13.
  • Huntingdon scored two more touchdowns, in the third quarter, on runs of 24 and 17 yards, to bring the score to 28-13.
  • The Monarchs best chance to score, in the third, came toward the end of the quarter. With the ball on the Hawks 20-yard line, Methodist once again lined up for another field goal, a 37-yard try. The kick was short but a roughing the kicker penalty, on Huntingdon, made it fourth and five. The Monarchs would go for it and not convert for a turnover on downs.
  • Methodist got back within seven to start the final quarter. First, a five-yard run by Tyquan Eaddy gave the Monarchs six, then Bullins found an open Wade Thomas for the two-point conversion making it 28-21.
  • The Hawks put the game out reach by scoring touchdowns on their next three consecutive drives and force the Monarchs to go three-and-out the rest of the game.
MORE TO IT
  • Praylow matched his career-high in receiving touchdowns, with two. He did it once in 2018 and again 2019.
  • Huntingdon outgained Methodist in rushing (357 to 105) and total (537 to 369) yards, but the Monarchs threw for 264 passing yards compare to the Hawks 180.
  • The Huntingdon defense was able to get the quarterback, as they accumulated five sack for a loss of 59 yards, while Methodist did not register a sack.
  • DaQuinton Grady was the Monarchs leading tackler, with a team-high 10 tackles. Both Grady and Bryce Jordan each finished with seven solo tackles.
