Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. Methodist men's basketball traveled to Raleigh, North Carolina on Tuesday evening for the team's second meeting this season with the Pacers of William Peace University. It was a close game throughout both halves but the Monarchs were unable to pull out a USA South Athletic Conference win, and lost 76-68.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the Monarchs started the game ahead 5-0, the Pacers held the lead until mid-way through the first half. Back-to-back layups for Methodist would tie the game at 19 all, first from a steal by Brone Brinson and next from a cost to cost fast break by Dante Burden. The Monarchs closed out the first half with the lead, 41-36 over the William Peace.
- Methodist maintained a steady lead at the beginning of the second half, as the Pacers only trailed by a basket or two. The tables turned half-way through the second period when William Peace went ahead 52-49.
- Clayton Coe knocked down a big three at the top of the key to tie the game at 62 all with just under four minutes to go. After the big three, the Monarchs went flat and the Pacers advanced on a 6-0 run to make it 68-62. Down the stretch the Monarchs were unable to convert on their shots as William Peace would take the win, 76-68.

- Burden had 19 points on six-of-sixteen shooting and Coe had 14 points to join Nehemiah McClain (12) in double-digit scoring.
- As a team, the Monarchs shot over 40 percent from the field, and 50 percent from three, compared to the Pacers' 50.9 percent from the field and 44 percent from three-point range.
- Methodist caused 12 turnovers, including 11 steals and converted 18 points off turnovers to William Peace's 10 points off turnovers.
- The Pacers out rebounded the Monarchs 33-27 and converted 12 second chance points to the Monarchs' nine.
- William Peace finished the game shooting 81.8 percent from the line, all of which were shot in the second half, going 9-11 as a team. Methodist was not far behind, shooting 78.6 percent and going 9-10 in the second half.
