FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Methodist's men's tennis took care of business, in the home opener, at the Gene Clayton Tennis Center with a sounding 9-0 victory over William Peace University in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Monarchs started off 3-0 once they swept the Pacers in the doubles matches. The number one doubles, Henry Murray & Luke Laney, along with No. 3 doubles, Samir Tewari & James Hu, each won 8-0. Harrison Bitzberger and AJ Rogers were victorious 8-2 in their match.
• Methodist did not take their foot off the gas pedal in the singles flights. Evan Kane, Quinn McNamara, Jaben Hardin, and Bridger Warlick would all defeat their opponents 6-0 in two set sweeps.
• Brent Edwards faced off with Dallas Russell, where Edwards claimed set one 6-0 before clinching the flight 6-2 in the second. The closest flight of the day came in No. 2 singles that saw Spencer Kieft beat Patrick Buckler with identical 6-3 sets.
