WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. Methodist women's tennis was the superior team on the courts on Saturday afternoon. During USA South Athletic Conference competition today, the Monarchs took down Salem College 9-0 at the Bert Lain Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In doubles, the tandem of Abby Caddick & Kamdyn Balko beat the pair of Alyssa Cosentino & McKinley Rice 8-0. The pair of Toni Laney & Veva Willocks were also victorious after defeating Haley Gilley & Natasha Guo 8-1.
- The Spirits were forced to forgo the third doubles flight, due to lack of participants, to give Methodist a 3-0 advantage. The shortage of people also affected the single flights, as the Monarchs claimed two automatic wins in Nos. 5 and 6 singles.
- Megan Kidd, Laney, and Willocks all swept their respective single matches with set scores of 6-0. Caddick would secure the clean sweep of Salem after winning her flight by scores of 6-1, 6-0 over Gilley.
