ROME, Ga. On Thursday morning the No. 2 seed of the East, Methodist women's tennis team competed in the Quarterfinals of the USA South Women's Tennis Tournament in Rome, Georgia. The team took a clean sweep over the Hawks of Huntingdon College, 9-0 to advance to the next round of the tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kamdyn Balko and Abby Caddick started the match off with an 8-4 win in doubles over Allexii Bassette and Madeline Creel at the No. 1s.
- Megan Kidd and Valeria Matute took the next match, 8-2 which was followed by a close match from the No. 2 doubles Toni Laney and Jill Lawrence. Lane yand Lawrence went into a super tie breaker to win 8-7.
- Five of the six doubles members competed in the singles matches.
- Caddick had a close competition in the No.1 position, dropping the first set 3-6 but came back to win the next two sets, 6-3, and 10-4. She was the only Monarch to go extra sets in singles.
- The best score of the day was from Matute in the No. 5 slot as she took on Alonda Weaver, defeating her 6-0 in the first set and 6-2 in the second.
- The new face of the day was Veva Willocks who came in during the singles in the No. 6 spot and secured the Monarchs first singles win, 6-2, 6-1.
