ROME, Ga. Men's Tennis faced off against (No. 2 East) Averett University in the USA South Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Tournament Semifinals on Friday afternoon. After going down 3-0 following the doubles sets, the Monarchs could not come back from the deficit and fell 5-2 to the Cougars.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The doubles teams witnessed a different line up in the semifinals on Friday afternoon, in the No. 1 doubles position, Jordan Theron and Spencer Kieft faced off against Rufus Nurminen and Martinho Gonclaves and put up a strong presence in their loss, 8-6.
- Another competitive match was Luke Laney and Henry Murray in the No. 2 spot, who went into a super tie breaker but lost 8-7.
- After dropping the doubles matches 3-0, the two wins came from Theron and Laney in the No. 1 and No. 3 spots.
- Theron defeated his opponent 6-2 and 6-0.
- While the other opponents were facing off, the match was called after the Cougars collected two more wins.
- Since the match ended when Averett reached a score of five, Laney was only in his second set and finished with a score of 6-4, 2-1.
