HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Pacers was able to score first in the contest with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second inning. Methodist responded back with their own run in the top of the third, when Christian Yarbrough brought in a run off a hit that went through the left side of the infield.
- William Peace did not allow this tie to last too long, as they were able to make it 4-1 off a 3-run homer. They added on two more runs in the fifth to push it to 6-1.
- After the Monarchs got two runners into scoring position, Wesley Hall got everyone, including himself, to all come around as he sent a ball over the left field wall for a 3-R jack. Just when Methodist was creeping back into the game, the Pacers would increase their lead by four runs to make it 10-4.
- The seventh also saw both teams adding to their score with the Monarchs getting two and William Peace getting four.
- A fielder choice RBI by Josh Lallo and a Pacers wild pitch allowed Methodist increase their score by two, to make it 14-8 in the eighth. The Monarchs tallied their final two runs in the ninth off a solo blast by Rob Wilkerson followed by an error by the Pacers.
