AUSTIN, Texas  On Wednesday, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released its Academic All-America Division III At-Large Team, placing Methodist University senior Jillian Drinkard on the Third Team of the national academic squad.

Wednesday's release follows the May 19 announcement by CoSIDA that saw the organization vote Drinkard a first-team academic All-District 5 selection, an honor that automatically placed her on the academic All-America ballot.
 
Since 1991, when Jay Kirkpatrick was the first Monarch to receive academic All-American status, the school has seen a total of 15 different student-athletes achieve this award. Now Drinkard -- a First-Team Academic All-American in 2021 -- becomes the second Methodist student-athlete to be a multi-award winner, the other being Carol Brogan (2000 & 2001).

Drinkard is coming off one of the best, if not the best, seasons in program history. Through 22 rounds of golf, she averaged 72 (even par) and finished in the top-5 in all but one event.  

For her career, she has played in 72 rounds and has a stroke average of 74.35 which ranks her at the very top of all Monarch women golfers. Since joining the program in 2018, she has competed in 30 tournaments and claimed the individualist honors 10 times -- a new school record.

Drinkard is a business administration major with a minor marketing concentrating in PGA management.
 
The Division III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2021-22 Division III Academic All-America® program.
