FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Methodist women's basketball hosted William Peace University on Wednesday night in a USA South Athletic Conference game. An excellent shooting performance by the Monarchs led to an 88-53 victory over the Pacers inside the March F. Riddle Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game began with a couple of lead changes before it would become all Methodist for the remainder of the contest. A 12-0 run by the Monarchs made the score 17-7 with a little over two minutes left in the first quarter. William Peace did manage to outscore Methodist in that remaining time but the Pacers still found themselves down 21-12.
- Each side scored four points at the start of the second frame before the Monarchs recorded 10 straight points. Methodist took a 44-17 lead into the locker room following 9-1 scoring run in the final two minutes.
- William Peace scored the first five points of the third period but Aniyah Tate got most of that back for the Monarchs by making back-to-back jumpers. Methodist tallied 10 consecutive points, for almost the third time in the contest, to balloon the lead to over 30 points.
- Early on in the fourth stanza, the Monarchs used a 7-0 run to reach their largest lead of the game, 76-38. Methodist slowed down their scoring frenzy toward the end of the game and got their bench players some quality minutes.

- The Monarchs shot at or over 50% in each quarter of the contest.
- Kiley Hicks and Tate each had a double-double. Hicks finished with 26 points, a new career-high, and 11 rebounds. Tate scored a career-high 19 points and collected 13 rebounds.
- Melissa D'Oleo had a nice overall game. She ended with six points, four steals, and dished out a career-high seven assists.
