STAUNTON, Va. Methodist men's basketball were the visitors in this USA South Athletic Conference game against Mary Baldwin University. The Fighting Squirrels handed the Monarchs their 13
th consecutive loss after beating them 89-61 in the Physical Activities Center, on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Methodist came out red hot at the start by making all four of their first shots and jumped out to a 10-3 lead. Soon the script flipped on the Monarchs and a 9-0 run by Mary Baldwin put the team up 16-12.
- Now finding themselves down, Methodist were trying to gain back the momentum they once had at the beginning of the contest. The Fighting Squirrels had other plans on their minds as they heated up from the field and eventually increased the advantage to almost a 30-point difference, 53-27, at the break.
- The game still favored Mary Baldwin early on in the second half, by scoring the first six points, before Montell Moore recorded the first bucket for the Monarchs. The Fighting Squirrels broke the 40-point difference plateau, 76-36, following a three by Zach Sloan.
- Mary Baldwin's offense continued to be clicking on all cylinders by as a jumper by Diego Lemus made it 85-42, their largest lead of the contest. Methodist would end the game on a high note by closing out on a 15-0 run.

- Mary Baldwin shot well from all three levels of the court. The Fighting Squirrels were 31 of 57 (54.4%) from the field, 10 of 23 (43.5%) from the perimeter, and 17 of 18 (94.4%) at the stripe.
- The rebound battle was heavily favored toward Mary Baldwin, as the team held a 47 to 22 difference over the Monarchs.
- The Fighting Squirrels had four scorers in double figures and were led by Quentin Hart with 16 points. Blake Lewis had a team-high 11 for Methodist.
