FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. The Methodist women's tennis team earned a win over previously undefeated Pfeiffer University on Tuesday. The Monarchs swept the Falcons 9-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cailin Cifra and Veva Willocks got the winning started for the Monarchs, claiming an 8-0 win on Court 3 in the doubles round. Toni Laney and Val Matute finished next, earning an 8-4 victory on Court 2, with Kamdyn Balko and Megan Kidd wrapping up doubles play with an 8-2 win in the top match.
- In the top singles match, Laney handled her opponent with set wins of 6-2 and 6-1. Cifra quickly took care of business from the two spot, defeating the opposition 6-0 and 6-3.
- Facing Pfeiffer's third ranked player, Kidd easily earned a win with sets of 6-1 and 6-2. On the fourth court, Matute made light work of her match, winning with sets of 6-2 and 6-0.
- Rounding out the wins were Willocks with 6-2 and 6-1 set wins in her victory and Luciana Forma, who shut out her opponent with two 6-0 sets.

Methodist remains at home for a match on Saturday against Salem College at 2 p.m. The match will serve as the Morgan's Message Dedication Match.
