HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Monarchs scored the first run of game one during the first frame before Salem quickly responded with three scores in the bottom of the first to take the lead. With two outs and two runners on base, Haley Fethke doubled to bring home two more runs, then scored on an Alyssa Rivas single to make the score 7-3. In the sixth inning, the teams traded two runs apiece before Methodist added one last run in the seventh.
  • Game two was all Monarchs as Methodist scored five runs in the first inning, including two that scored on a double by Angel. The Spirits answered with just one run in the bottom of the first, which the Monarchs walked in.
  • The Monarchs recorded their third five-run inning of the day in the top of the second, taking a 10-1 lead. Three runs were brought home by Heather Tsapp, who doubled to right field with the bases loaded.
