RALEIGH, N.C. Entering Friday's USA South Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal round with a program-best 12 wins on the season, Methodist met its match with a red-hot Meredith College team. The Monarchs fell 22-6, bringing Methodist's record-setting season to an end.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Monarchs were held scoreless in the first quarter and gave up seven goals to Meredith – four of which went to USA South Rookie of the Year Reese Walker.
- Methodist had a statement start to the second quarter as senior Keegan Foyles scored the first goal of the period, then connected with Kennedy Martin for another, making the score 7-2 less than a minute into the second period. The Avenging Angels answered with two goals of their own before Mikayla Ramos responded with another Methodist score. From there, Meredith went on a five-goal run, racking up an 11-goal lead. The Monarchs cut the deficit by one just before halftime as Martin scored a goal in the final minute of the quarter.
- It was Martin again who scored first in the third period, pulling Methodist to within nine goals. The Monarchs wouldn't get any closer however, as Meredith scored four-straight over the remainder of the third period.
- The Avenging Angels scored four more in a row to begin the fourth period, with Ramos notching the final goal of the game for Methodist.
FAST FACTS
- Kennedy Martin and Mikayla Ramos finish the 2023 season having each scored at least one goal in every single contest. Martin scored three times on Friday while Ramos scored twice.
- Methodist was outshot 36-20, putting just 14 shots on goal to Meredith's 26.
- Meredith's All-Conference first-teamers combined for 17 goals: six for Reese Walker, five for Kylie Phillips, five for Jessica Dowdy and one for Lauryn Turner.
