AUSTIN, Texas  Methodist University golfer
Jillian Drinkard has been named to the College Sports Communicators' (formerly CoSIDA) NCAA Division III Academic All-America At-Large Women's Team for the third time in her career. Drinkard, who was named to the First Team in 2021 and the Third Team in 2022, was voted to the Second Team this year, the organization announced on Thursday.
Â
As a third-teamer last year, Drinkard became the first Methodist student-athlete ever to receive Academic All-American status three times in a career.
Â
Drinkard was automatically nominated for the Academic All-America team after she was recognized by CSC as an Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team member in May. As a graduate student pursuing a degree in Business Administration, she performed at a high level in the classroom and on the golf course this year.
Â
At the USA South Athletic Conference Championship in April, Drinkard paced the field and claimed the medalist honors while helping lead the Monarchs to a berth in the NCAA DIII Championship. She was Methodist's top performer at the NCAA DIII Championship in May, earning her fifth top-ten placement on the season as she finished in a tie for seventh.
Â
This latest accomplishment is just one of many for Drinkard, who after five seasons has cemented a legacy at Methodist.
