MONTGOMERY, Ala. With Methodist University women's lacrosse 22-0 win over Huntingdon College, in USA South Athletic Conference action, the Monarchs have set a new program record for shutouts in a single-season.
This was third time, in 2024, the Monarchs have blanked an opposing team. The last, and only, time Methodist has kept multiple foes off the scoreboard was during the 2006 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Tia Marlinghaus got the scoring going for the Monarchs as she recorded the opening goal just 11 seconds into the contest. From there, Methodist tallied 11 more goals to go up 12-0 by the time the first quarter came to end. Payton Jones (4), Marlinghaus (2), Kayla Nee (2), and Rosa Williams (2) registered multiple scores for the Monarchs.
- Methodist took a 13-0 halftime lead following a goal by Mikayla Ramos, in the second period.
- The third and fourth frames saw the Monarchs score nine additional goals, with Ramos and Anna Tabarrini finding the back of the cage twice.
FAST FACTS
- Seven different Methodist players finished with two or more goals. Jones paced the Monarchs with five goals herself
- With her three points recorded in today's game, senior Rosa Williams reached the 100 career points mark.
- Methodist was a perfect 14 for 14 on clear attempts.
- Senior Ashley Fuentes and freshman Victorianna Murray shared time in net for the Monarchs, with each recording a save. Fuentes was credited with the win and improves to 9-2.
