Records: Methodist 3–6 (2–2 USA South), Brevard 8–3 (3–1 USA South)

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Monarchs found themselves in a 7–0 hole to start the game. Korin Gladden scored the team's first six points to pull within three of the Tornados, then she passed the baton to Kayleen Grullon, who scored six of the team's final eight points of the quarter. Still Methodist trailed 19–14 after the first.

Brevard pushed its lead to 13 in the second quarter after a 13–5 run to begin the period, but Tori Coleman scored the last bucket of the half to bring the Monarchs back within 12 points.

The Tornados found a strong surge in the third quarter, piecing together an 18–0 run across a five-and-a-half-minute span to push ahead 56–30. The Monarchs went blow for blow with Brevard in the fourth, scoring 22 points in the final quarter, but the difference was too much to overcome.

MORE TO IT

Grullon was the other Monarch to reach double figures in scoring (10), while Gladden produced the most well-rounded stat line with nine points, nine rebounds, five assists and one block.
