FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Facing a USA South foe for the first time this season, the Methodist women's tennis team defeated Mary Baldwin University in dominant fashion on Thursday afternoon, earning a 7–0 win over the Fighting Squirrels.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Monarchs earned the doubles point after fully sweeping the round. Emma Hulicki and Caitlin Tihanovich on Court 1, Annabelle Subirats and Katie Sechrist on Court 2, and Veva Willocks and Wilette Rivera Morales on Court 3 all defeated their opponents by a score of 6–0.
- In the top singles match, Hulicki saw the closest score of the singles round, still easily defeating her opponent in sets of 6–3 and 6–1. Subirats on Court 2 and Tihanovich on Court 3 both swiftly won their matches in sets of 6–1 and 6–0.
- On Court 4, Sechrist defeated the opposition with a 6–1 win in set one and a 6–2 victory in the second set. With back–to–back sets of 6–0, Willocks (Court 5) was the only Monarch to not drop a single game during the singles round. In the final singles match, Helen Boeshore handedly finished the team sweep with set wins of 6–0 and 6–1.
