FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. In back-to-back seasons, the Methodist University women's lacrosse team cruised to a 23–0 USA South victory over William Peace University as the Monarchs hosted the Pacers inside Monarch Stadium on Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Methodist jumped out to a significant lead in the first quarter, scoring ten goals. Six different Monarchs contributed to the score, with Kaitlyn Coleman and Layla Wiesenfeld each achieving a hat-trick.
- In the second quarter, Methodist tallied six more goals to push the advantage to 16–0 heading into halftime. Scoring their first goals of the contest were Jenifer Ferreira, Brooke Murrell, and Rylie Sturgill.
- Kennedy Martin reignited the scoring for the Monarchs in the third quarter, as Methodist tallied four goals in the period to reach the 20-goal plateau.
- The Monarchs scored their final three goals in the fourth quarter, made by Coleman, Sturgill, and Lailah Espinal.
FAST FACTS
- For the third time this season, Methodist goalies Ashley Fuentes and Victorianna Murray spent time in the cage to preserve the shutout.
- Coleman led the Monarch's offense as she scored a game-high five goals. Not too far behind her was Wiesenfled with four, while Mikayla Ramos and Sturgill each scored three.
- With four ground balls in today's game, Martin became the second player to record over 200 GBs in a Methodist uniform. She joins MU Athletics Hall of Famer Lauren McGonagle, who owns the program record with 231.
