HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Vikings struck early in the 4th minute, as Jack Raulston capitalized on a set-piece opportunity. Berry was awarded a free kick after a foul, and Charlie Stokes volleyed the ball into the box. The ball first found Soren Bednar, and he one-touched it to a crashing Raulston, who finished the play with a left-footed kick.
- The Monarchs, however, refused to buckle. They built pressure over the remainder of the first half and into the second, taking a 2–0 edge in corner kicks before finding a breakthrough.
- That breakthrough arrived in the 75th minute when Cameron Lambert delivered a pinpoint corner into the box, and Carson Stretz rose above the defense to head it inside the right post — his second goal of the season — leveling the match at 1–1.
