SANFORD, N.C. The No. 3-ranked Methodist men's golf team captured the 2026 USA South Men's Golf Championship on Wednesday at Carolina Trace Country Club, finishing with a three-round total of 883 (+19) after posting a 15-over 303 in the final round.
The title marks the Monarchs' fifth consecutive conference championship and 36th overall. It also continues another remarkable streak, as a Methodist golfer has now claimed or shared individual medalist honors in five straight season and 30 times overall.

FINAL ROUND
- Senior Haden Ruby earned individual medalist honors with a three-round total of 213 (-3), securing his first title of the season. He carded a two-over 74 in the final round, recording two birdies, and was named to the USA South All-Tournament Team.
- Senior Beau Brewer also garnered All-Tournament Team recognition after finishing runner-up at 218 (+2). Brewer posted an even-par 72 in the final round, highlighted by three birdies.
- Senior Jonny Lewis narrowly missed All-Tournament Team honors by one stroke, finishing sixth overall with a score of 227 (+11). He carded a five-over 77 in the final round.
- Sophomore William Plageman placed eighth with a three-round total of 231 (+15), shooting an 80 in the final round with three birdies.
- Junior Todd Moyer rounded out the lineup in ninth place with a score of 232 (+16). He recorded two birdies en route to an 83 on the final day.
UP NEXT
With the victory, Methodist earns the USA South's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Men's Golf National Championship. The Monarchs will compete May 12–15 at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
