FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. In Sunday's series finale versus North Carolina Wesleyan University, the Methodist baseball team suffered a 10-0 defeat to the Battling Bishops after eight innings, finishing 13-8 in USA South play during the regular season. It's the first time the Monarchs were shut out all season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Battling Bishops put two runners on via walk in the top of the first, then brought both home on a double. In the third inning, the visitors loaded the bases before two swings of the bat delivered a total of four runs to make the score 6-0.
- North Carolina Wesleyan added one in the fifth, two in the sixth, and a final run in the eighth inning.

- Blake Freeman reached base a team-high three times, batting 2-for-3 with a walk.
