FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. The Methodist men's and women's cross-country teams were up bright and early Saturday morning, competing in the Wilmington Beach Blast at Wilmington Municipal Golf Course.

MONARCH NOTES
- Sophomore Thomas Hanson led the Methodist men, recording the team's fastest time with an 18:42.77 to finish 12th overall. Freshman Randy Desjardin followed in 17th place with a time of 19:33.54.
- Freshman Me'Lik McLaughlin and senior Keon Lassiter finished within three seconds of one another. McLaughlin crossed the line in 19th place with a time of 21:38.47, while Lassiter finished 20th in 21:41.98.
- Rounding out the Methodist men's lineup were junior Johnathan Bordeaux, who placed 24th with a time of 23:57.91, sophomore J'Quez Jackson in 25th at 24:00.31, and senior Damian Jefferson in 26th at 24:59.69.
- On the women's side, freshman Alexandria Manuel paced the Monarchs with a 12th-place finish in 25:02.02. Sophomore Mally King followed closely behind, placing 13th overall with a time of 25:26.47.
- Freshman Jailynn Russ finished 15th in 31:59.05, while seniors Sanaia Hill and Imani Kee rounded out the Methodist lineup in 16th and 17th, respectively. Hill posted a time of 35:14.20, while Kee finished in 35:32.88.
UP NEXT
Methodist will have a couple of weeks off before returning to competition at the Central Children's Home XC Festival on Saturday, Sept. 26. The race is scheduled to begin at 2:25 PM.
