Women’s Golf Places Fourth at Conclusion of Shenandoah Invite

Berkeley Springs, WVa. –  The Methodist University women's golf team concluded round two of the Shenandoah Women's Invitational at Cacapon Golf Club, shaving ten strokes off their round one team score to fire the best team score of the final round within the field, 316 (+28) to tally a 642 (+66) for the tournament, moving up one spot to fourth place on Sunday afternoon.

FINAL ROUND
  • Senior Anna Wicklum posted a birdie on the par-4 second to move up two spots in the field, firing an 80 (+8) overall to total a 158 (+14), becoming the lone top-10 placement for the Monarchs in T-8th.
  • Junior Kiley Donovan propelled eleven spots off the leaderboard, collecting a birdie on the par-4 sixth to log a 78 (+6) in Sunday's round, totaling 160 (+16) overall for T-11th
  • Junior Cloe Rich skyrocketed fifteen spots individually after round two, recording the most birdies on the day for the Monarchs team scores on the par-3 fourth and the par-5 ninth. Rich would tally a 77 (+5) overall for Sunday's clash, finishing with a total score of 161 (+17) for T-15th.
  • Junior Paige Wilkinson and sophomore Julia Hashem were the final Monarchs that counted for the teams outing on Sunday. Wilkinson collected a birdie on the par-4 tenth to record an 81 (+9) for Sunday's showing, while Hashem's four-hole stretch on the front nine advanced her to fire an 81 (+9) as well. In total, Wilkinson tabulated 163 (+19) to rank out in T-20th with Hashem placing in T-27th with a 165 (+22) in total.
  • Sophomore JaycieKate Lowery matched Rich's outing of a 77 (+5) as an individual for Methodist with birdies on the par-5 fifth and the par-5 18th to subtract seven strokes off her day one tally. Overall, Lowery would finish in T-15th, collecting a 161 (+17) total score.

Methodist is off for one week before returning to the links on Monday, September 28th through Tuesday, September 29th for the Tartan Invitational, hosted by Carnegie Mellon University at the Nemacolin Resort in Farmington, Pa.
