HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Methodist University women's soccer team kept control of their gameplay through back-to-back days of action, resulting in a 1-0 victory over Eastern Mennonite University on Sunday afternoon at the EMU Turf Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Freshman Ryley Brinkley and sophomore Kat Cardiff sent opening shots towards the Royals defense front, creating scoring chances early for the Monarchs.
- After senior Emily Hoyt's shot attempt in the 26th minute, the Monarchs were able to convert for their lone goal of the contest, with junior Alexa Armour sending a PK goal into the net during the 32nd minute.
- Sophomore Kat Cardiff and freshman Anna Wiggins added more scoring opportunities late in the clash off both shot attempts in the 82nd minute of play.
- Freshman Kiera Ferguson kept EMU's offensive gameplay in check off three saves collected throughout the battle, allowing zero shots for the second time in her collegiate playing career.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Kat Cardiff maintained the Monarchs scoring looks, leading her squad with three shots attempted, one of those being on goal.
- Sophomore Ally Quiroz and Alexa Armour would each follow suit with one on goal, with Armour's look converted off her penalty kick goal for Methodist.
- Kiera Ferguson dominated in net for the Monarchs, allowing no goals off five shots faced, scooping up three saves in the process.
