OXFORD, N.C. - The Methodist men's and women's cross-country teams competed in their third meet of the fall campaign at the Central Children's Home XC Festival with both squads finishing runner-up in their respective meets located at the Central Children's Home of North Carolina on Saturday afternoon.

MONARCH NOTES
- Sophomore Thomas Hanson led the Monarchs in the men's race, finishing with a time of 32:16.0 for eighth place. Freshman Randy Desjardin placed alongside Hanson in the top 10 for Methodist, ranking out in ninth with a finishing mark of 34:00.3
- Freshman Me'Lik McLaughlin and senior Keon Lassiter crossed the finish line within one second of each other, with McLaughlin and Lassiter finishing in 12th and 13th place respectively. McLaughlin concluded the race with a time of 36:34.3, while Lassiter landed a mark of 36:35.1 during the afternoon.
- Junior Johnathan Bordeaux and senior Damian Jefferson rounded out the Monarchs male finishers with Bordeaux ranking out in 17th with a time of 45:23.9. Jefferson would finish the race in 19th, crossing the finish line with a mark of 47:37.1.
- Freshman Alexandria Manuel was the lone top 10 finisher for Methodist in the female race, ranking out in eighth with a time of 28:50.0. Sophomore Mally King would follow suit, finishing in 11th position with a time of 30:07.3.
- Freshman Jailynn Russ concluded the race in 15th position for the Monarchs with a time of 37:03.4. Freshman Kahleina Vereen and seniors Sanaia Hill and Imani Kee ranked out in succeeding order of 15th, 16th, and 17th, respectively. Vereen crossed the line with a time of 39:10.6, while Hill and Kee marked out with times of 39:45.7 and 43:54.0, respectively.

Methodist will travel up to the mountains of North Carolina at the Livingstone XC Invitational, hosted by Livingstone College on Friday, October 9th, with the start time for the first race slated for 11:00 AM.
