Mention Methodist University baseball and the consistent success it has enjoyed through the years and one has to look no further than the man behind that success - Tom Austin. Austin joined the Methodist coaching staff for the 1980 season and has spent 32 seasons at the helm of the Monarchs.
Austin recently won his 1,000th game on Mar. 25, 2012 with a 3-2 victory over Shenandoah University. Entering the 2012 season, Austin ranks second in wins amongst active NCAA Division III baseball coaches and sixth all-time.
