Blake Newsome enters his first season as the Undergraduate Assistant at Methodist University. Newsome’s coaching responsibilities include working with the infielders, catchers, baserunners, and hitters. Newsome’s duties also include coaching first base.

Newsome a native of Turbeville, S.C. played two seasons at Florence-Darlington Tech, and lettered two years at Methodist.  As a Monarch infielder, Methodist was 58-30-1. Newsome frequently works camps across the southeast.

Newsome plans to graduate in May 2009 with a degree in Physical Education.
