Biography

2014: Made a team-high 14 appearances on the mound, all in relief … was 2-0 with eight saves and a 3.10 ERA … pitched 29.0 innings and had a 30:7 strikeout-to-walk ratio … went at least 2.0 innings in six-of-eight saves … pitched 4.0 innings in team’s 6-3 victory versus Maryville on March 16 … gave up no runs on two hits and zero walks with a pair of strikeouts to earn the save … had a 3.0-inning save in team’s 6-3 win against Covenant on April 10 … allowed no baserunners and struck out three … earned All-USA South Second Team recognition … ends his Methodist career as the program’s leader in career pitching appearances with 81.

2013: Pitched in 22 games, including three starts … had a 5-2 record … in 55.1 innings pitched, struck out twice as many batters as he walked (38:19) … entered in relief and went 6.0 innings in the nightcap of a Feb. 15 doubleheader versus N.C. Wesleyan … gave up a single run on four hits and one walk and struck out three … had a scoreless of 12.0 innings over the course of four relief appearances at one point in April, part of which coincided with the team’s USA South Tournament run … during this stretch, he allowed only three hits and two walks while striking out 10 … pitched 4.2 innings in relief against Averett on April 11 to open the conference tournament … did not surrender a single hit while walking one and striking out five to earn the win … also pitched the final 2.0 innings of the team’s tournament-clinching victory over LaGrange on April 14 … allowed one hit and no walks with four strikeouts … earned All-USA South Tournament honors for his efforts as Methodist claimed the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament … was the winning pitcher in the team’s extra-inning victory over Huntingdon on May 15 at the South Regional … went 3.0 innings and gave up no runs on a pair of hits and a walk and struck out three.

2012: Appeared in 22 games, including two starts … went 2-4 with two saves and a 3.35 ERA … struck out 27 batters and walked 10 over the course of 37.2 innings pitched … earned the save in the nightcap of a season-opening doubleheader versus Roanoke on Feb. 4 … retired the side in order in his lone inning of work … in his next appearance, he pitched another 1-2-3 inning at LaGrange on Feb. 11 to record a save and preserve a 6-5 victory … earned the win against Emory & Henry on March 6 … threw 1.0 inning and struck out two … claimed the victory at N.C. Wesleyan on April 7 … pitched 2.0 innings and struck out three.

2011: Pitched in 23 games, all as a reliever … had a 1-2 record with a pair of saves and a 3.34 ERA in 32.1 innings pitched … picked up a 3.0-inning save to close out a 7-2 win at N.C. Wesleyan on April 3 … allowed only a hit and struck out two … later pitched back-to-back days against N.C. Wesleyan in the USA South Tournament and picked up a save and a victory, respectively … retired all three batters he faced to earn the save on April 14 … with Methodist facing elimination, he pitched 5.0 innings of relief and struck out four to record the win on April 15.

High School: A 2010 graduate of Matoaca High School in Chesterfield, Va. … played baseball … coached by Fred Stoots.
