2025: Had a breakout season… appeared in 47 games, all starts… led the team in batting average (.417), hits (75), triples (4), home runs (10), RBIs (63), slugging percentage (.689), and on base percentage (.486)… also recorded 53 runs, 11 doubles, 24 walks, and nine stolen bases… registered a season-high three hits in 11 games… recorded at least one hit in 41 games, including 23 multi-hit performances… registered a career-best 17-game hit streak from March 23 – April 29… scored a run in 34 games, including 17 multi-run performances… produced a career-high five RBIs in four games… recorded at least one RBI in 30 games, including 15 multi-RBI performances… registered 69 putouts, seven assists and three errors for a .962 fielding percentage.
2024: Appeared in 42 games, with 39 starts… batting average of .262… slugging percentage of .322… totaled 39 hits, 20 runs scored, 33 RBIs, 17 walks and 12 stolen bases… also added five doubles and two triples… recorded a season-high three hits on two occasions, against Piedmont and Pfeiffer… scored a run in 20 games… produced a season-high three RBIs in three games… registered 26 putouts, 48 assists and 15 errors for a .831 fielding percentage.
Prior to MU: Played at Coker University, in Hartsville, South Carolina, for two years… appeared in 22 total games… twice named to the South Atlantic Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
High School: Named Academic All-Ohio and received prestigious Man of Moeller honor… played travel ball for Midland Redhawks, where he led the team in doubles & triples while stealing 24 bases in 41 games… member of 1st Honor Roll and received Ohio Diploma with Honors.
Personal: Son of Jen and Paul Melvin... father, Paul, played baseball at Cedarville University (1991-95)... Tristen is majoring in healthcare biology with a minor in chemistry.
