Courtney Long joined the Methodist staff in March 2009 after spending time as a dance teacher and coach at Wake Forest Rolesville High School. She developed the first team in school history and grew the program to 120 members in just two years.
The Methodist dance team became the Lionette Dancers in 2009 as they performed during football games and began training for basketball. In August 2010, Long's team qualified for national competition for the first time since 2002.
Long joined the staff with 17 years of dance experience andfive years of teaching experience. She earned a bachelor of fine arts degree from East Carolina University in 2006.
