Eric Eisenberg

Eric Eisenberg joins the Methodist football staff for the 2022 season as the Defensive Backs Coach.

Eisenberg was selected as one of 25 National Collegiate Athletic Association coaches to participate in the 2022 NCAA and National Football League Coaches Academy that was at the NCAA national office in Indianapolis, Indiana. The NFL also brought in 25 additional attendees, all of whom were former NFL players coaching at various levels in the collegiate, high school, or professional ranks. The purpose of the Academy is to provide current, full-time college football coaches at NCAA member schools an educational opportunity to build connections and develop leadership skills to pursue their career aspirations.

Prior to joining Methodist University, Eisenberg was the Defensive Coordinator at Sul Ross State University where he helped to improve the defense nationally in several different categories and led them to their highest defensive national ranking in almost a decade. During his time at Sul Ross, Eisenberg coached All- ASC Linebackers Hunter Bunch, Quincy Blair and All- ASC Defensive Back James Parker.

Eisenberg spent the previous two seasons as the Offensive Coordinator at North Broward Preparatory School in Florida.

Prior to his time in the high school ranks, Eisenberg served as the Assistant Defensive Backs coach at Humboldt State University where he coached 1st team All-GNAC Defensive Back Davaeon Johnson. While at HSU, Eisenberg assisted in all game planning for the Defense and Special Teams.

Before joining Humboldt State, Eisenberg was the Inside Linebackers Coach at the University of Central Missouri. During his two years at Central Missouri, the Mules reached the NCAA Division II playoffs in 2016 and were Top 10 in the nation in two defensive categories. Eisenberg also coached All-MIAA Linebackers Sam Smith, Austin Miller and Alex Lackey.

In 2014, Eisenberg served as the Defensive Quality Control coach at Division 1, Florida Atlantic University.

Eisenberg started his coaching career as a student assistant coach at the University of Central Florida. In his time there the Knights won the inaugural American Conference Championship and went on to win the 2014 Fiesta Bowl.

Eisenberg received a Bachelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise Science with a concentration in Human Performance from the University of Central Florida in 2014 and received his Master of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Central Missouri in 2017.
