Matt Sadler returns to the sidelines for his second season as an assistant with the men's soccer program. A former Methodist player, Sadler has a wealth of coaching experience to bring to the team.
Sadler is currently a physical education teacher at Fayetteville Christian School and coaches the U-11 Fayetteville Force boys team.
Previously, Sadler spent time as head coach of the boys soccer team at Fayetteville Christian where the team went to the State Final Four twice and was ranked number one in North Carolina in 2008 with a 17-2-1 overall record. Sadler was named the Conference Coach of the Year, NCSCA Region 1 Coach of the Year and North Carolina State Coach of the Year in 2008 for his efforts.
Sadler also spent time coaching and teaching at the Steward School in Richmond, Va.. He has additional coaching experience with the Richmond Strikers and the Virginia Olympic Development Program. He holds a "B" License from the United States Soccer Federation.
Sadler was a four-year starter for the Monarchs and served as team captain in his senior season. During his career, he scored five goals and notched 17 assists. Once he completed his eligibility, Sadler served as an assistant during the 2002 season at Methodist.
Sadler earned a bachelor's degree in Sport Management from Methodist in 2003. He and his wife Mary Lawrence were married in April 2010.
