David Kurvink

David Kurvink joined the Methodist staff in the fall of 2008 and begins his third season as the men's tennis coach this fall.

In his first season with the Monarchs, the team finished 11-7 overall and advanced to the USA South Tournament semifinal match before falling to eventual champion N.C. Wesleyan. Last season the Monarchs went 10-9 overall and advanced to the conference tournament semifinal gain.

Kurvink came to Methodist after spending two seasons as the head tennis coach at Adrian College in Adrian, Mich. While at Adrian, Kurvink worked to rebuild the men's and women's programs while leading the men's team to their best season in recent history.

Before his stint at Adrian, Kurvink spent time as the assistant men's and women's tennis and squash coach at St. Lawrence University where he received Liberty League coaching staff of the year honors.

Kurvink found success on the court as well while attending Moravian College. A 2003 graduate, Kurvink was a four-time All-Conference player posting a 50-17 record on the way to earning team MVP honors on three different occasions.

Kurvink earned a bachelor's degree in clinical counseling psychology and a master's degree in school counseling and development.
