Coach Ken Stewart joined the Monarch program in 2017 as an assistant coach. He brings a wealth of athletic, coaching and leadership experience to the program having coached football, basketball, baseball and softball at several different levels for the past 25 years.Â
Coach Stewart is a Fayetteville, N.C., native and thrilled to be part of the Monarch program. “I’m honored to have this opportunity and so appreciative of being able to work side by side with Coach Ron Simpson. He is a great leader with a wealth of knowledge, has a heart of gold, and has an immense love and dedication to Methodist University and his softball family".Â
Coach Stewart retired from  a 26 year business career to pursue his passion of coaching full time.  "About 12 years ago I absolutely fell in love with fastpitch softball and have dedicated myself to expanding my knowledge and skills to be able to be an asset in coaching at this level of the game. I'm pretty much 24/7 with studying the game and I relish the opportunity to share with others to help them grow as players and young ladies. Hopefully with my years of leadership experience in the business world and sports I can teach softball at a high level but more importantly instill wisdom and life lessons that will help ensure our young ladies are well prepared for life after college. Making a positive difference in the life of others is why I love coaching".Â
Coach Stewart works primarily with the outfield and hitting at MU. He is married to Pam Stewart and they have 4 children and 4 grandchildren. He is also an actor, writer and producer and his first film project, RESTORATION, was distributed in 2019 and is available on Amazon Prime. Â
