Entering her first year at Methodist University, Girton will be assisting Softball Head Coach Ron Simpson an assistant coach.

Girton graduated in 2012 from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas with a bachelor's degree of education in interdisciplinary studies. Prior to her time at SHSU, Girton was an award-winning catcher/first baseman for San Jacinto Community College. As a sophomore, Girton played as the primary catcher, with a batting average of .319 and a .406 OBP while accumulating a total of two home runs and 29 RBI. During the 2011 season, Girton helped lead the Coyotes to a second-place conference finish and a fifth-place regional finish. In that same season, Girton earned both first team all-region and all-conference catcher honors and was also named to the NJCAA Louisville Slugger Mid-West Second Team.

Girton has also in the past dedicated her time to instructing youth softball, providing catching lessons as well as organizing softball day camps for ages 5-10.
