Coach PD Anglea enters his first year as a volunteer assistant softball coach with the Monarchs softball program. He will assist in all areas of on field coaching.

“I am grateful and excited to be working with Coach Alex and the other coaches with the Methodist University Program. All are young and bring enthusiasm and positive energy to the team.”

Anglea comes to Methodist University after serving as an assistant softball coach at Rutland High School and as an assistant coach at Fort Valley State University in Georgia.

During his long career of playing and coaching fastpitch softball he has accumulated a wealth of experience. As a player he was primarily a pitcher and corner infielder. In addition to his playing experience at all levels of men’s fastpitch he has also seen plenty of time as both a head coach and assistant coach at the high school and collegiate levels. Head coaching stops included Andrew College, Lamar County High School, and Stockbridge High School; all in Georgia.

He also coached high school Track & Field and Cross Country as well as collegiate Cross Country at Andrew College.

He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Southern Illinois University and obtained a Master of Arts Degree in General Counseling from Louisiana Tech University.

Coach Anglea retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant. He and his wife, Blanche, have three children, Richard (Karina), Steven (Jozie), and Kristen. The couple moved to North Carolina to be closer to their grandchildren.
