Flowers’ coaching experience began in 2004 as an assistant track coach.
He helped several athletes to qualify for the North Carolina High School Track and Field Championships.
His most prominent year came in 2007 while he was the head track and field coach at E. E. Smith high school, where he was awarded the Two Rivers Conference Girls’ Coach of the Year.
