Sumer Rohrs joins the Methodist track and field staff for the 2009-10 season to assist coaching sprinters and hurdlers.
Rohrs comes to Methodist from a competitive Mason-Dixon Conference opponent, Frostburg State University. A six-time NCAA Division III National Champion in the 55mH, 100mH and 400mH, Rohrs holds the national record in the 55mH set at the 2009 NCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championships. During her career, Rohrs accumulated nine All-American honors and broke all of the sprint and hurdle records at Frostburg. She finished her career as the most decorated track and field athlete in Frostburg history.
Off the track, she was a three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic recipient and served as the national Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative for the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. Rohrs was also the president of the Psi Chi National Honors Fraternity and the Frostburg chapter of SAAC.
Rohrs received a B.S. degree in Psychology with a minor in Coaching from Frostburg State in May 2009.
