McNair is in her ninth season as the head coach of the Methodist women's basketball team. She was promoted in the summer of 2017 following 20 years on the sidelines as the program's top assistant.Â
Under McNair's leadership, the 2024–2025 squad posted a record of 17-10 and an 11-5 record in conference play, marking the team's third consecutive winning season overall and fourth season in a row with a winning record versus USA South foes.Â
At the end of the 2023-2024 regular season, McNair was named USA South Coach of the Year for guiding the Monarchs to a 17-1 record versus conference opponents, which was a feat that earned the team the title of co-regular season champions. As the No. 2 seed in the USA South Tournament, the Monarchs ultimately fell in the semifinals, ending the season with a 21-6 record – tied for the second-most wins in a single season in program history.Â

After two tough seasons for the Monarchs in 2019 to 2021, the 2022 season witnessed a strong turnaround. The team finished 12-13 overall and 10-8 in league play. McNair led the team to her first conference winning season and first USA South Conference Tournament appearance since taking the roll as head coach in 2017. Under McNair's leadership, Kiley Hicks was named the league's Rookie of the Year, becoming the program's second Rookie of the Year recipient. A highlight from the season was watching Jessica Drake break the single-game record with seven made threes against Guilford.Â
In the 2019-20 season, the Monarchs went 3-22 and 2-14 in conference action. The high point of the season was Kadie Snipes tying the single-game program record with six made threes against Pfeiffer. Her 59 made threes were third in the conference and she set new team records in single-game attempts (15), single season attempts (201), and career attempts (487) this season.
The Monarchs finished 5-20 overall (a two-game improvement altogether from McNair's first season at the helm) and 3-13 in league play for the 2018-19 season. Methodist was top five in the conference in opponents' field goal percentage, holding teams to 34.6 percent shooting from the field in 2018-19.
As an assistant, McNair was involved in every aspect of the women's basketball program. Her primary duties were implementing the offensive attack, breaking down opponents' film, creating the scouting report and on-court coaching, and the recruitment of future Monarchs.Â
Prior to arriving at Methodist in 1997, McNair coached two Brentwood Booster Club Association youth basketball teams for the Cumberland County Parks and Recreation Department.
A native of Fayetteville, N.C., McNair is a 1994 graduate of then-St. Andrews College in Laurinburg, N.C., with a bachelor of arts degree in allied health and she was also selected to the Dean's List. McNair lettered four seasons as a guard for the Knights.
