Dezzire Gilliard makes the move from the court to the sidelines as an assistant coach with the Methodist University women's basketball team for the 2010-11 season.
Gilliard finished her career with the Monarchs as a three-year starter after transferring from Newberry College. A three-time All-Conference selection, Gilliard finished her career ranked in a number of categories in the Methodist record book. She is second in steals with 209, third in free throws and blocks with 282 and 58, fourth in rebounds with 647, ninth in points with 914, and tenth in field goals with 282.
Gilliard also excelled in the classroom earning three-time USA South Academic All-Conference honors and Methodist Scholar Athlete recognition. She is currently pursuing her MBA after earning a bachelor's in business administration in May 2009.
