Dennis Cox joined the Monarchs in August 2011 as head coach after serving two years as assistant for Methodist graduate Lindsey (West) Lutz at Shenandoah University.
During his first season at the helm, the Monarchs went 6-8 while earning a 3-4 record in the USA South Athletic Conference for fifth place in the league.
Cox spent four years as a member of the SU men's lacrosse team. He was a two-time All-PAC selection during his career as a long-stick defenseman and is still No. 1 on the career caused turnovers list. In 2009, Cox joined Lutz's staff and has helped propel Shenandoah to a program best 12 wins in 2011 and a No. 1 ranking as LaxPower's most improved Division III team in the nation.
Cox received bachelor's degrees in mass communications and kinesiology with concentrations in journalism and sports studies from Shenandoah.
