Dave Mueller

  • Title
    Assistant Women's Soccer Coach
Mueller joined the Monarch coaching staff before the 2024-25 academic year.

Before coming to Methodist, Mueller was the Strength, Conditioning, and Sports Performance coach for the Fayetteville Fury. He helped the athletes to stay physically and mentally engaged, maintained a watchful on the health and well-being of each athlete, and provided performance mentorship. He tracked performance metrics through regular field-based assessments, performance logs, and post-training follow-ups.

His coaching experience began after joining the US Army, where he occasionally helped with coaching duties to intramural and recreation teams. He practiced and refined his leadership and development experience over years of coaching and mentoring some of America’s finest warriors during 20 years of service. He also played soccer in the Ft. Benning Commander’s Cup and the Columbus Area Soccer Association.

Wanting to share his love for the game with his children, Mueller began coaching youth soccer while maintaining US Soccer coaching certifications. He enjoys the impact of bringing a new skill, sport, and confidence to youth athletes both in soccer and in sports performance.

Before joining the military, he grew up in Roanoke, Virginia, and played soccer for the Roanoke Stars U11-U20 club teams and Roanoke Catholic High School.

Mueller holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Sports Medicine and Health Sciences from American Military University. He currently maintains an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, NASM Certified Personal Training, and NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist. He is also the proud father of a son and daughter, Brennan and Keira.
