Alicia Barto joined the Methodist women’s tennis coaching staff as an assistant in September 2021 and was elevated to Head Coach in the summer of 2023.

As a junior player, Barto achieved significant success on the ITF and WTA circuits. She ranked among the top 10 juniors in South America and was listed inside the top 500 of the ITF World Junior Rankings. Her junior and early professional career also included earning two points on the WTA Tour — one in singles and one in doubles.

Barto competed collegiately at both Lindsey Wilson College (NAIA) and Troy University (NCAA Division I). At Lindsey Wilson, she rose as high as No. 3 nationally in singles and No. 2 in doubles during her two years with the Blue Raiders. After transferring to Troy, she helped the Trojans reach the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
