Methodist University Athletics

Irenia Torre begins her first year at Methodist University in the fall of 2026 as an assistant athletic trainer. She serves as one of two athletic trainers for the Monarch football team as well as the primary athletic trainer for women's lacrosse.

Before Methodist, Torre completed her graduate education at Old Dominion University, gaining clinical experience in a variety of collegiate, secondary school, clinical, and orthopedic settings, including ODU Football and Batten University Women’s Volleyball. She also conducted concussion research examining the effects of concussion history on complex tandem gait performance.

A Virginia native, Torre earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine, with minors in general psychology and coaching, from Averett University in 2024. While at Averett, she was a four-year member of the women's lacrosse team and served as President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Torre later obtained her Master of Science in Athletic Training from ODU in May 2026.

Torre is a Board of Certification (BOC) Certified Athletic Trainer and is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners (NCBATE). She has remained actively involved in the athletic training profession through the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) and state athletic training associations.
