Methodist’s Vice President and Director of Athletics Dave Eavenson has announced the hiring of Tyler Tingen as the Assistant Sports Information Director and Marketing Associate, in August of 2026.

Tingen will help in the promotion of all 20 varsity sports, overseeing game-day operations, mentoring all student assistants and interns in the office and on gamedays, publicating athletics releases, managing the Monarchs athletics website and social media operations, and marketing Methodist University as a whole.
He arrives at Methodist after spending the 2025-26 academic year as an Athletics Communications Graduate Assistant with Division-III Guilford College. While at Guilford, Tingen was the primary contact for men’s soccer, men’s golf, women’s basketball, softball, men’s & women’s track & field.

Before Guilford, Tingen spent four years at Division-III Roanoke College on the men’s golf team, three and a half as an Athletics Communications Student Assistant, from 2022-2025. As a student assistant, he assisted in all game day operations for home athletics events while . In the fall of 2024, Tingen was a Sports Analytics Intern at Roanoke, assisting in all statistical operations for the Maroons throughout the 2024-25 academic year. He would go on to receive the 2025 Paul W. Rice Award from Roanoke College Athletics for being the senior student athlete who has contributed the most to campus life from his work in Sports Information during his undergrad.
A native of Chester, Virginia, Tingen graduated from Guilford in 2026 with a Masters in International Sports Management. He would graduate from Roanoke in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Actuarial Science. He currently resides in Fayetteville.
