EMORY, Va. - The Methodist women picked up their first win of the season with a 72-46 defeat of Piedmont.

The Monarchs jumped on Piedmont early and took a 41-22 lead at halftime after hitting four 3-pointers.  Methodist kept the pressure on in the second half cruising to the 72-46 victory.  The Monarchs shot 51.9% from the field during the game and finished 11-for-13 from the free throw line to seal the win.

Sophomore Dawn Sanderson led the team with 18 points while senior Amanda Underwood had 17 points and junior Michaela Myers added 13.  Senior Dezzire Gilliard scored eight points with 10 rebounds.

Myers and Gilliard were named to the All-Classic Team.
