GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Monarchs won the first two sets over Guilford before dropping the third set. Methodist came back to win the fourth set (25-15, 25-22, 23-25, 25-23) winning their fifth match of the season, and head coach
Eddie Matthews 100th match at Methodist. Methodist moves to 5-4 this season while Guilford stands at 2-9.
In the first set, the Monarchs cruised to a 25-15 win and came from behind to win 25-22 in the second set. Methodist used a nine point rally behind the serving of junior
Allison Averitt to take the 2-0 lead. Methodist tried to make another comeback in the third set but came up short for Guilford to win 25-23. The fourth set gave Methodist the early lead, but the Quakers kept battling before Methodist prevailed 25-23.

Sara Yeatman led the team with 11 kills a piece while junior
Allison Averitt added ten.
Methodist travel to Sweet Briar on Saturday for a match at 3 pm.
