FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Methodist dropped a three set match to Roanoke (17-25, 22-25, 23-25), but bounced back to win 3-1 over Sweet Briar (22-25, 25-16, 25-16, 26-24). The Monarchs move to 4-4 on the season while Roanoke is 7-0 and Sweet Briar is 4-5.
Freshman
Jalesty Washington led the Monarchs in the first match of the day with seven kills while junior
Taylor Cates added six kills. Freshman
Kelsey Yates finished with 15 digs while junior
Jordan Grady had 14. Junior
Kelsey Carter had 27 assists.
Methodist dropped the first set to Sweet Briar 22-25, but came back and won the next three to take the match. Washington came away with 16 kills while Cates had nine and junior
Laura Gilbert finished with eight. Grady had 26 digs with Yates finishing with 22 in the match. Carter dished out 41 assists to go along with 15 digs.
The Monarchs will play at Guilford on Thursday at 7 pm.
