SWEET BRIAR, Va. - The Methodist volleyball team took care of business at Sweet Briar Friday evening with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-11, 25-22) win over the Vixen.
The Monarchs (13-6) jumped out to an early 7-2 lead over Sweet Briar (2-14) before cruising to the 25-16 victory in the first set. Methodist came right back in the second set and finished up with an ace from sophomore
Kelsey Yates to win 25-11.
Sweet Briar led early in the third set, but the Monarchs battled back to tie the set at 19. Sophomore
Kayci Miller capped off the comeback with an ace to help the Monarchs to the 25-22 win.
Freshman
Stephanie Wood led the team with 12 kills while sophomore
Jalesty Washington added nine. Miller had 29 assists and seven digs. Yates and senior
Jordan Grady added five digs a piece.
The Monarchs will host Greensboro College on Tuesday at 7 pm.
